The Black Mamas Matter toolkit is a resource for advocates who are concerned about the health and well-being of black women and girls. It takes a human rights based approach to maternal health, identifying the rights of pregnant and birthing parents and the corresponding role of government to ensure safe and respectful maternal health care for all.
This racial equity tip sheet is a narrative with tips on how to not blame the victim of disparate racial equity outcomes. This two page Tip Sheet has the full title of HOW CAN WE AVOID "BLAMING THE VICTIM" When We Present Information on Poor Outcomes for Different Racial, Ethnic, Language or Immigrant Groups in our Community? It offers alternative methods of presenting comparative data about populations in a way that does not leave the reader thinking the individuals of focus are the reason for the disparate outcomes, rather than reasons related to institutional and structural racism.
This Tool Kit was produced by Race Forward. Race Forward Research conducts cutting edge, original and broadly accessible research on pressing racial justice issues focused on the significance of race to social and economic outcomes in our society. Race Forward Research seeks to provide evidence of the entrenched and systemic barriers to racial justice.
